Obituary

Mrs. Lillian Schanen age 93 years passed away Tuesday evening October 14 2014 at Belgium Gardens surrounded by her loving family. Lillian was born November 23 1920 in Lena WI the daughter of Frederick and Loretta (nee Fifield) Fields. On June 5 1946 she was united in marriage with Milton Schanen at St. Rose Parish in Milwaukee. The couple was married 63 years before Milton preceded her in death in 2009. Lillian was a member of Friedens Evangelical Church in Port Washington and the Saukville American Legion Auxiliary Post 470. She enjoyed crafting particularly ceramics playing cards and bingo reading and had golfed with the Hawthorn Honeys until she was 80. After retirement Lillian and Milton enjoyed traveling in their RV and were snowbirds in FL for over 30 years. In 2013 Lillian moved to Belgium Gardens where she met many new friends who became her extended family and enriched her life with love and friendship. Lillian is survived by her children: Robert (Dawn) Schanen of Brookfield Cheryl (Marvin) Steliga of Prentice and Trent (Karen) of Cedar Grove and her grandchildren: Brian (Tracie) Schanen Brenda (Thomas) Jones. Jason (Joan) Steliga Nicole (Steve) Schafer and Trent (Maggie) and Blake (Rebecca) Schanen. She is further survived by 13 great-grandchildren her brother Maynard Fields of Oconto sister Joyce (George) Jacobson of Madison special friends Ernesto and Olivia Villarreal of Hartland nieces nephews other relatives and many friends. She is preceded in death by 9 siblings: Vivian Otto Marie Fifield Josephine Waite and Howard Malcolm Harold Gerald Alfred and Richard-John Fields. Funeral Services will be held at 12 noon on Monday October 20 2014 at Eernisse Funeral Home 171 N. Royal Ave. in Belgium with Pastor Joe Brath officiating. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Monday morning from 10AM-12 noon. Lillian will be laid to rest beside Milton at Wisconsin Memorial Park in Brookfield. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to Saukville American Legion Auxiliary Post 470 or to a memorial in Lillian's name to be used at Belgium Gardens. The Eernisse Funeral Home Belgium is honored to be assisting the family with arrangements.
