IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Liliana E. "Lili"
Biever
January 16, 1937 – October 17, 2024
Mrs. Lili Biever, formerly of Port Washington, passed away Thursday, October 17, 2024, at the Wisconsin Veterans Home in King where she has resided since 2016. She was 87 years old.
Liliana was born in Verona, Italy, on January 16, 1937, daughter of Luigi and Maria (nee Colantonio) Galvanin. As a young girl, Lili enjoyed painting, drawing, and dancing. Her bright, open smile earned her a job as a model for a short time.
She met Allen Biever when he was stationed in Italy with the US Army. The couple married on May 10, 1959, at Lili's family home in Verona and were blessed with two children. The family traveled to many Army bases throughout the world before settling in Port Washington in 1981. Mrs. Biever often worked as a nurse or teacher on base, and worked as a Home Health Aide with the Ozaukee County Health Department when they lived in Port Washington. Lili and Al moved to King in 2016. Al preceded Lili in death in 2022.
Mrs. Biever was a longtime member of the American Legion Auxiliary and was involved with the Port Washington and the Sheboygan posts, as well as the VFW Post 5373 Auxiliary. She enjoyed crocheting and knitting, often donating much of her work. Lili loved people and enjoyed helping them in any way she could.
Lili is survived by son Luigi (Kimberly) of San Antonio, TX, and daughter Giannina "Geny" (Mike) Vernon of Port Washington, and grandchildren Victor Vernon of Port Washington, Christina Loftus of Sussex, WI and Katerina Biever of San Antonio, TX. She is further survived by four great-grandchildren: Lilah, Elliot, Oliver, and Madeline, sisters-in-law Shirley Birenbaum, Maryann (Walter) Thill, Adela Hartman, Luella Harter, Gertrude Carlton, and Rosanne Biever, nieces, nephews, other family and many friends. Lili is preceded in death by her husband Allen, granddaughter Stella Vernon, and sister Giovanna "Nini" Galvanin.
Per her wishes, cremation will take place and private family services will be held. She will be laid to rest beside her husband and granddaughter at St. Mary Cemetery, Port Washington.
If desired, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Wounded Warriors Project in her name.
In Lili's memory, please give a stranger a kind word and a smile… pass her love on.
