Obituary

Lester J. Gasper, age 98, of Cedar Grove, went home to be with the Lord early Friday morning., December 11,2020. Lester was born on June 19, 1922 in the Town of Holland to Michael and Anna (Deheck) Gasper. He married his dimpled sweetheart, Eileen Krier, on April 15, 1944. He and Eileen spent 72 years together and raised 9 children on a farm in rural Cedar Grove. In addition to farming, Lester also worked at Bolens in Port Washington. He was an active member of St. Nicholas Parish, a member of the Holy Name Society and of the choir. He served as president of the Catholic Knights Branch 164 for several years. Lester found a new hobby when he started running in his late 50's. He participated in races all over the state and several out of state. He has numerous trophies and ribbons that he won during those years. After he retired, Lester and Eileen travel extensively both here and abroad. Lester is survived by his children: Ruth (Dan) Schueller of Cedar Grove, Anthony (Betty) Gasper of Marietta, GA, Pauline (Clem) Lesch of Valley View, TX, Gail (Glenn) Stout of Bradenton, FL, Mark (Debbie) Gasper of Port Washington, Paul (Patti) Gasper of North Prairie, Gerard (Lori) Gasper of Fort Atkinson, Karen (Ray) Will of Cedar Grove and Kay (Bill) Wulff of Port Washington. He is further survived by many loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Lester is preceded in death by his wife Eileen, grandson Terry Will, great-grandson Alexei Bauereis and his siblings Marie, Martha, Loretta, Isabelle, John, and Leo. A private Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of the Lakes Parish, St. Nicholas Chapel in Dacada. Father Gideon Buya and Father Guy Gurath will preside. Lester will be laid to rest next to his wife Eileen at St. Nicholas Cemetery in Dacada.
