Leonard J. Gilgenbach Leonard Gilgenbach of Port Washington passed away Sunday August 8 2010 at Ellenrsquo;s Home in Port Washington surrounded by his loving family. He was 88 years old. Leonard was born July 12 1922 in Milwaukee the son of Thomas and Frances Leuthner Gilgenbach.nbsp; He proudly served his country in the US Army from 1942-1945. He was employed as a painter at Conrad Schmitt in New Berlin.nbsp; Leonard was a member of the Painterrsquo;s Union Local 781 the Van Ells-Schanen American Legion Post 82 in Port Washington and the Arbor Club. He enjoyed painting drawing reading doing crossword puzzles playing solitaire and spending time with his family. Leonard is survived by 11 nieces and nephews: Thomas (Coleen) Gilgenbach of Milwaukee Kenneth (Joyce) Gilgenbach of Wauwatosa Elizabeth Gilgenbach of Milwaukee Patrick (Judy) Lee of Holy Cross Gerald T. (Vicki) Lee of Port Washington Janis (Joe) Ismil of Hibbing MN Arlene Lee of Port Washington Alyn (Jessie) Lee of Port Washington Mary Lee of Sheboygan Nancy Lee-Mulvany of Port Washington and Frances Lee-Dahm of Port Washington. He is further survived by 41 great-nieces and nephews 38 great-great-nieces and nephews other relatives and many friends. He is preceded in death by 5 siblings: Cecelia Snyder Marion Lee Thomas Frank and Edwin Gilgenbach. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 5PM on Sunday August 22 2010 at St. Peter of Alcantara Catholic Church 1800 N. Wisconsin Ave. with Father Pat Wendt officiating. nbsp;Leonard will be laid to rest at Holy Cross Cemetery in Milwaukee. The family will receive visitors at the Eernisse Funeral Home 1600 W. Grand Ave. in Port Washington on Sunday afternoon from 2-4:30 leaving for St. Peter of Alcantara Catholic Church at 4:30PM.
