Leonard Dudkiewicz of Cedarburg passed away peacefully on Friday, June 9, 2017 at Columbia St. Mary's Hospital Mequon at the age of 83. He was born to John and Anna (nee Nitch) Dudkiewicz on August 17, 1933 in Crivitz, WI. He married Lois Camlek on January 28, 1956 and together they had three children. After graduating from high school, Len went on to receive a Bachelor's degree in Education from UW-Platteville. Later, he received his Master's degree in Education from UW-Madison. He continued to pursue his love of education, teaching biology at Homestead High School for thirty-four years, eventually retiring in 1995. He often told people that he loved every minute of it and given the chance, he would do it all over again. Leonard was devoted to his wife, children, and grandchildren and strived to be a provider and caretaker for anyone who needed him. He spent many summers painting houses and continued to do so for many years after retiring. Len spent much of his time with his granddaughters, always willing to take them on adventures, help them with homework, or make them laugh. Len was always smiling and willing to offer a joke. He also enjoyed time spent with family and friends, particularly spending time in Crivitz at his cabin, hunting with his son Mike. Len was an all-around wonderful, caring, hard-working man. Leonard is survived by his wife Lois, son Ronald Dudkiewicz of West Bend and daughter Laurie Jentges of Port Washington; two granddaughters, Katie Jentges (fiancée Rob Safemaster) of Milwaukee and Becky (John) Mayberry of Port Washington; and one great grandchild on the way. He's further survived by sisters-in-law Janet (Bryan) Borman of West Bend and Donna (Peter) Witt of Brule, nieces, nephews, and many friends. He was preceded in death by his son Michael; brothers John, Harry, and Arthur; sister Florence; infant sister Dorothy; and brother-in-law Henry (Linda) Camlek, Jr. A Funeral Service will be held at 7:00PM on Thursday, June 15 at Eernisse Funeral Home (1167 Washington St. Cedarburg, WI 53012) with Pastor Paul Mittermaier presiding. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 4:00-7:00PM. Interment will be at Washington County Memorial Park.
