Mrs. Leona M. Anzia of Cedarburg formerly of Belgium and Port Washington passed away Monday evening February 20 2012 at Lasata Care Center. She was 91 years old. Leona was born may 9 1920 in Holy Cross the daughter of John and Margaret Binsefeld Burmesch. After graduating from high school Leona attended Sheboygan Business College where she graduated from in 1937. On June 15 1940 she was united in marriage with Alvin Anzia at Holy Cross Catholic Church in the Town of Belgium. He preceded her in death in 1995. The couple resided in Belgium where they attended St. Mary Lake Church. In 1967 they moved their family to Port Washington where they became members of St. Peter of Alcantara Catholic Church. Leona worked as a bookkeeper in Port Washington at Allen Edmonds and later at Smith Brothers. She was an avid gardener and an expert at crocheting. Leona is survived by her sons Gary (Sharon) Anzia of Port Washington and Pat (Christine) Anzia of Waterloo IL granddaughter April King and great-granddaughter Kaylee King-Lallomont. She is further survived by her sister Verena (Bert) Wester of Port Washington brother-in-law Marvin (Lois) Anzia of Belgium sisters-in-law Vange Gosewehr of Fredonia Patsy Meyer of Hartford and Delores Kultgen of Belgium nieces nephews other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents husband Alvin and sister Elsie Reiter. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 6PM on Thursday February 23 at St. Peter of Alcantara Catholic Church 1800 N. Wisconsin St. Port Washington. She will be entombed at St. Mary's Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested. The family will receive visitors at the church on Thursday from 4-6PM.
