Obituary

LENORE J. RADTKE Mrs. Lenore Radtke of Lakeview Ave. in Port Washington passed away at her home Thursday morning August 18 2011. She was 94 years old. Lenore was born in Whitestown WI on March 4 1917 daughter of Arnt and Signa Hemstad Hagen. She grew up in Whitestown and later moved to Milwaukee. Lenore was an elementary school teacher most of her life retiring as a 1st grade teacher in the Franklin School District. She was united in marriage with Harvey Radtke in August of 1978 in Milwaukee. He preceded her in death in 1997 and she moved to Port Washington to be closer to her daughter. Mrs. Radtke was a member at Christ the King Lutheran Church in Port Washington and the Port Washington Senior Center. Very proud of her heritage she was also a member of the Sons of Norway. Lenore read a great deal and read her bible daily. She was an avid sewer and made many clothes for her family. When her husband was alive they traveled to Florida for the winters. Mrs. Radtke also liked to do various arts and crafts projects to keep her hands busy. She is survived by her children Ann (Floyd) Peters of Port Washington Kay (Mose) Waldner of Springfield MO and Tom (Nancy) Radtke of Franklin. She is further survived by 9 grandchildren: Sabrina (Mike) Prinsen Michael (Kim) Peters Eric (Ann) Peters Cindy (Mark) Zoellner Joann (Terry) Adams Kelly (Ronald) Campbell Dallas Waldner Terry Radtke and Tommy (Julie) Radtke 15 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother Arnold (Inez) Hagen of LaFarge WI and 2 sisters: Doris (Russ) Helgren Norwalk WI and Norma Onsager of Valders WI nieces nephews other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband Harvey Radtke her former husband Paul Nelson Rose and 3 sisters: Marion Munson Alverda Nault and Thelma Christensen. A Memorial Service will be held at 2PM on Thursday August 25th at the Eernisse Funeral Home 1600 W. Grand Ave. Port Washington. Rev. Robert Abel will officiate. The family will receive visitors at the Funeral Home on Thursday from 1-2PM. Lenore will be laid to rest at Sandhill Bethany Lutheran Church Cemetery in LaFarge WI.
