Mr. Lenor A. Ruffing Len Mr. Len Ruffing of County Road B in the Town of Port Washington passed away on Friday morning February 1 2008 at Samaritan Health Center in West Bend where he had been a resident for the last five years. He was 96 years old. Len was born in Allenton on November 19 1911 the son of Louis and Minnie Kreilkamp Ruffing. He was united in marriage with Ms. Evelyn M. Reiter on September 5 1936 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Port Washington. The couple settled in Port Washington in the early 1940's and raised their family. Mr. Ruffing was a barber by trade first working with Emil Lauis beneath the current Wilson House. He took over when Mr. Lauis retired and barbered for another 20 years. Len also worked at Simplicity retiring in 1975 after 13 years. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and enjoyed listening to polka music watching Lawrence Welk and other programs on television socializing and spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife Evelyn of the Town of Port Washington their two daughters: Joyce (Leonard) Hildebrand of West Bend and Carol (Robert A.) Noll of the Town of Port Washington 6 grandchildren 13 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandson. He is further survived by his brother Leroy Ruffing of West Bend sister-in-law Florence Pein of Montello nieces nephews other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by 3 brothers: Wilfred Jerome and Erwin Ruffing and 1 great-grandson Adam Puerling. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday February 8 7PM at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Port Washington. Father Tom Lejewski will officiate. Interment will take place in the parish cemetery. The family will receive visitors on Friday February 8th at the church from 5-7PM. Memorials are suggested to St. Mary's Catholic Church in Port Washington or Cedar Community Hospice in West Bend.
