Obituary

LEE R. TACKES Mr. Lee Tackes of Belgium passed away at Heritage Nursing Rehabilitation Center early Sunday morning November 24 2013. He was 61 years old. Lee was born in Belgium on November 7 1952 son of Louis and Elaine Croatt Tackes. He attended local schools including Port Washington High School. Lee started working at Allen Edmonds Shoe Factory before he was out of high School and continued on for more than 20 years before health issues forced him to retire. Mr. Tackes was a longtime member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Lake Church the Belgium Fire Department and a member of the Belgium Jaycee's for more than 15 years. He resided at Belgium Gardens after his health deteriorated and moved to Heritage Nursing Home in Port Washington earlier this year. In his youth Lee enjoyed snowmobiling. In recent years he enjoyed working on crafts and working with his hands. Mr. Tackes was known to be quite the teaser and took pleasure in spoiling his nieces and nephews. He is survived by his sister Janet Pelkey of Elkridge MD and four brothers: Daniel ( Margaret Ann) Tackes of Menomonee Falls Bruce (Linda) Tackes of Seymour TN William (Laura) Tackes of Cedar Grove and Alan (Susan) Tackes of Granada Hills CA. He is further survived by five nieces and nephews: Emily JinHo Ryan Joshua and Paul 10 great-nieces and -nephews aunts. uncles cousins other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents. Funeral Services will be held at 7PM on Friday December 6th at the Eernisse Funeral Home in Belgium (171 N. Park St.). Father Jim Ernster will preside. Lee will be placed beside his parents in St. Mary Parish Cemetery the following day. The family will receive visitors at the Eernisse Funeral Home on Friday December 6th from 4-7PM. Memorials are suggested in Lee's name to the Association for the Rights of Citizens with handicaps (ARCh) or to the Diabetes Association.
