Lawrence Rodewald Mr. Lawrence E. Rodewald age 83 years of Port Washington WI formerly of Peoria IL passed away in the early morning hours of Wednesday January 26 2005 at Cedar Springs Health and Rehabilitation Center in Cedarburg WI. He was born in Foley MN on May 4 1921 son of the late Onno and Annie Buss Rodewald. On February 14 1948 he married Margaret Helen Ryan in St. Louis County MN. She preceded him in death in May of 1971. Mr. Rodewald served as a 1st LT. with the Army Air Corp. during WWII then worked as an electrical engineer for Central Illinois Light Company. After many years at CILC he worked for Harza Engineering International. While with Harza Larry lived in Egypt for 5 years helping bring electricity from Cairo to villages on the Nile River. While there he married Mary Alice Edwards in Giza Egypt on November 7 1978. Mr. Rodewald was a member of the Institute for Electrical and Electronic Engineers and also volunteered for the Service Corp. for Retired Executives. He was a former Jaycee in Peoria and a member of the National Association for Amateur Radio Operators. His hobbies included tennis crossword puzzles and his short-wave radio. Larry immensely enjoyed driving and also was a supporter of Youth Hockey. He is survived by his children Susan (Don) Niederfrank of Port Washington WI Lance (Patricia) Rodewald of Atlanta GA and Judy (Doug) Guinn of Whitefish Bay WI. He is further survived by 8 grandchildren; Margaret and Willis Niederfrank Theresa and Thomas Rodewald and Andrew Emily Ian and Margaret Guinn 4 sisters; Pearl Carlson of Monticello MN Ethel Furuli of Edina MN Luceile Kemper of Missoula MT and Luell Lewis of Silver Springs MD 1 brother Howard Rodewald of Oceanside CA nieces nephews other relatives and many friends. Funeral services will take place on Saturday January 29 2005 2 PM at St. Paul United Church of Christ 495 St. Augustine Road in the Town of Erin WI. Burial will take place in Riverside Lutheran Cemetery Foley MN. Visitation at the Church Saturday from 1-2 PM. Eernisse Funeral Home Port Washington WI is assisting the family.
