Mr. Lawrence Gregorash of Dodge Street in Port Washington passed away Saturday evening February 4 2012 in Port Washington. He was 88 years old. Lawrence was born May 4 1923 in Manistique MI the son of John and Mary Bukavatz Gregorash. He proudly served his country as a Merchant Marine. On December 1 1945 he was united in marriage with Clara Meyer at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Port Washington. Clara preceded in him death in 1993. For many years Lawrence was a project superintendant building industrial smoke stacks for Continental Heine Chimney Company out of Chicago IL. Through his job Lawrence worked throughout the United States and South America. Lawrence was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Port Washington as well as the Carpenters Union. He enjoyed spending time outdoors hunting and socializing with friends. Lawrence is survived by his children: Christine Gregorash of Fountain Hills AZ and son-in-law Nick Strauss of Olympia WA Lynn (Susan) Gregorash of Luck WI Scott (Jody) Gregorash of Port Washington Charysse Gregorash (Craig) Nyholm of Brown Deer. He is further survived by grandchildren Lia T.J. Nathan Aubre Ayla Kyle and Abbey 5 great-grandchildren numerous step grandchildren and great-grandchildren brother-in-law Walter Meyer of Port Washington sisters-in-law Rita Meyer of Clearwater FL and Germain Meyer of Port Washington other relatives and friends especially Marie Miilu of Port Washington. He is preceded in death by his wife Clara son Lon Gregorash special friend Ruth Meyer 4 brothers and 6 sisters. A Memorial Mass will be held at 12PM on Saturday February 11 at St. Mary's Catholic Church 430 N. Johnson St. Port Washington with Father Thomas Lijewski officiating. He will be laid to rest beside Clara at St. Mary's Cemetery Port Washington. The family will receive visitors from 9:00- 11:30AM on Saturday at Eernisse Funeral Home 1600 W. Grand Ave. Port Washington leaving for the church at 11:30. In lieu of flowers memorials suggested to Alzheimer's Association American Heart Association St. Mary's Church or St. Francis de Sales Church (Manistique MI).
