Mrs. LaVerne Egerer of the Town of Belgium passed into her Saviors arms on Palm Sunday, March 29th, 2026, while surrounded by her loving family. She was 96 years old.
LaVerne was born in the Town of Auburn, WI on November 21, 1929, the daughter of Arnold and Martha (nee Galabinski) Kutz. She attended local schools and Campbellsport High School.
On June 29, 1948, LaVerne was united in marriage with Henry Egerer, Jr. in West Bend. The couple were blessed with eight children. The family settled in the Town of Belgium and Laverne assisted Henry in running Egerer’s Excavating and Concrete Products for many years. She also worked at Allen Edmonds in Belgium and Smith Brothers Restaurant in Port Washington. Henry preceded LaVerne in death in 2002.
Mrs. Egerer was a faithful member of St. Mark Lutheran Church in Belgium. She had the soul of an artist and enjoyed painting. Cooking, baking, and helping to raise grandchildren (multiple generations!) were some of her greatest pleasures. She also enjoyed travel, cake decorating, wildlife, birds, and camping. Family was her passion and she was an exceptional mother. She always welcomed everyone back home, no matter what they may be going through in their lives, and always put others first without complaint.
LaVerne is survived by her children Henry (Julie) Egerer III, Dennis (Sandy) Egerer, Donna (Paul) Theisen, Tammy Lofberg (special friend Dale Glander), Brad Egerer, and Jill (Greg) Schils, 18 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren (with one on the way!) and 7 great-great-grandchildren. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other family and friends. LaVerne is preceded in death by her husband, infant sons John and Daniel, and grandson Kevin Egerer.
Funeral Services will be held at 5PM on Thursday, April 9th, at St. Mark Lutheran Church, 200 Park St., Belgium. Pastor Lewis Polzin will preside. She will be laid to rest beside her husband in Union Cemetery the following day. The family will receive guests at the church on Thursday, April 9th, from 3PM until services begin at 5PM.
Memorials, if desired, are suggested to St. Mark Lutheran Church.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Aurora Home Hospice for the wonderful and attentive care.
The Eernisse Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements; online condolences may be left at www.eernissefuneralhome.com .
