Mr. Lawrence J. Herring Sr. Mr. Larry Herring of W. Greenview Court in Milwaukee formerly of Park Ridge IL passed away suddenly at his home on Thursday morning August 28 2008. He was 65 years old. Larry was born December 4 1942 in Pennsylvania the son of Joseph and Els Rahe Herring. He served his country in the Air Force from 1960-1964. Afterwards he moved to Chicago IL to attend Moody Bible Institute where he earned a degree in Bible Doctrine. While there he met his wife Fran Jenkins. They were united in marriage on October 14 1967 at Judson Baptist Church in IL. Larry was an ordained minister at Grace Gospel in IL for 15 years as well as a registered sign language interpreter and minister to the deaf. nbsp;Later he chauffeured a limousine for Orsquo;hare Midway Limousine Company. Larry and Fran moved to Milwaukee in 2003 and became members of Open Door Bible Church in Port Washington. While living in Wisconsin Mr. Herring served as a Chaplain at Froedtert Hospital and volunteered with his wife at the Blood Center of Wisconsin. In his spare time Larry loved to fish meet new people and spend time with his friends and family. He always had a story or joke to share and was never afraid to share his faith. Larry is survived by his wife of 40 years Fran and 3 sons: Mark (Kristine) of Canton GA Larry Jr. (Anna) of Dacula GA and Todd (Amy) of Grand Rapids MI and 7 grandchildren: Emily Joshua Nathan Kyle Emry Elizabeth Zander and one on the way.nbsp; He is further survived by one sister Mary Lou (John) Hartos of Pleasant Hills PA; 3 sisters-in-law: Faye Brown of Fredonia Carol (William) Martin of West Melbourne FL and Mary Ellen (Christopher) Thompson of Helena MT nieces nephews other relatives and many friends. Funeral Services will be held Monday September 1 6:00 PM at Open Door Bible Church 3420 Cty Road LL Port Washington. Pastor Sid Litke will officiate. Inurnment with military honors will take place at a later date in Pennsylvania. The family will receive visitors at the church on Monday September 1 from 3-6 PM. In lieu of flowers memorials to Open Door Bible Church are appreciated.
