Obituary

Kevin J Markowski went home to be with the Lord on September 9, 2026, at the age of 63. Kevin will be deeply missed by his wife Nancy, his children Jenny and David (Morgan), his grandson Henry, his mom Virginia, and his sister Cheryl (Matt), in addition to many cherished nieces, nephews, in-laws, family and friends.

Kevin’s life was defined by service, dedication, and an unwavering love for his family and community. He passed away peacefully at home after a brave struggle with cancer. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness that touched everyone who knew him.

Kevin was born on May 27, 1963, in Milwaukee, WI to Jerry and Ginny (Hopf) Markowski. He was a proud graduate of Marquette University High School and embodied their ideal to be a “man for others” throughout his life.

For 38 years, Kevin was the devoted husband and best friend to Nancy. Together, they built a beautiful life. Kevin was a proud and loving Dad. He embraced fatherhood with his whole heart. Just five days before his passing, Kevin experienced the immense joy of becoming a grandfather to Henry, a precious gift that brought a final blessing of happiness to his life.

A proud Eagle Scout in his youth, Kevin carried the values of the Scouts throughout his entire life. He served as his son’s Scout Leader, passing down his love for nature, leadership, and community service. Kevin felt most at peace on the trails. He spent countless hours hiking, with Pike Lake holding a particularly special place in his heart.

Kevin’s commitment to helping others extended into his professional and community life. He spent his entire career as a dedicated letter carrier before retiring in 2019 after 30 years of service. He also was a proud volleyball coach where he mentored young athletes on sportsmanship, teamwork, and confidence. Kevin enjoyed volunteering, especially at St. Ben’s Meal program with the Saint Gabriel’s team.

He found joy in cheering on the Green Bay Packers and Notre Dame football, his love of reading books and watching movies, and his deep affection for fostering dogs, which were among the many pleasures that brought him happiness. Kevin will be remembered for his generous spirit, his willingness to always lend a helping hand, and the deep love he had for his family. He leaves behind a community that is better for having known him, and a family that will forever carry his memory in their hearts.

Kevin was preceded in death by his father, Jerome.

The Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate Kevin’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, N88 W17658 Christman Rd. Menomonee Falls, WI 53051. The family will greet relatives and friends at church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of Mass.
