Obituary

For years Ken Fleck husband father and consummate grandfather planned to spend forever in eternal love and joy with Christ. It was God's plan too and He called Ken to eternal joy on February 27 2015. Ken planned futures for himself his family and professionally. It's not surprising that his favorite Bible verse is Jeremiah 29:11 which begins I know the plans I have for you... Even today while his loving wife Susan Fleck (ne Dornacher) and his three children Jason (and his wife Amanda who live in Port Washington) Melissa (who lives in Cedarburg) and Ryan (and his wife Samantha who live in West Bend) wrestle with God's plan they realize how Ken's faith and planning had prepared them for this moment. Kenneth Marvin Fleck was born May 26 1957 in Port Washington Wisconsin. He grew up in Menomonee Falls where he attended high school. He received his law degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1985. Ken joined God's family in baptism at Calvary Lutheran Chapel in Madison during his undergraduate years there. When Ken believed in something you knew it. Everyone saw how he adored Susan whom he married on June 4 1983. Their love and commitment was palpable a real example to their children. Anyone who has visited his home would know it contains a veritable museum of pinball machines a passion that woke the boy the curator and the competitor in him. Ken believed in the sanctity of life - that the unborn life matters and should be protected. In 1993 he founded Eyewitness for Life in Milwaukee a non-profit organization that educates pregnant woman about their child's development with free ultrasound imagery. Ken was also passionate about Faith Endowment - helping ministries plan their futures and create strong endowments to sustain their ministry. But Ken's love and passion were most evident when he was with his grandchildren Ellie Nolan and Liam. He couldn't say no to them couldn't put them down couldn't spend just a few minutes with them. He was terrible at rationing time or love for them and they flourished in his love with laughter and hugs. Ken was preceded in death by his mother Patricia Fleck (ne Rogers) and survived by his wife his children grandchildren his dad James Fleck Sr. (of Weatherford TX) and his brothers and sisters James (and his wife Roxanne) Fleck Jr. (of Watauga TX); Cheryl (and her husband Michael) Conway (of Aurora CO); Penny (and her husband Larry) Hertel (of Menomonee Falls WI); Jennifer (and her husband Ronald) Kumferman (of Hartford WI); and Diana (and her husband Mark Adler) St. James (of La Canada CA). Funeral Services will be held at 6:30 PM on Sunday March 8 2015 at First Immanuel Lutheran Church W67 N622 Evergreen Blvd in Cedarburg. Rev. Randy Raasch will preside the service. The family will receive visitors prior to the service at the church from 3:30 - 6:30PM.
