Obituary

KENNETH JAMES GILBERTSON Mr. Ken Gilbertson of Jacque Lane in Port Washington passed away at Lawlis Family Hospice Center in Mequon early Friday morning December 12 2014. He was 82 years old. Ken was born in Rhinelander son of Orville and Flora Bissonnette Gilbertson. He attended local schools before entering the US Army and serving in Korea. On August 22 1953 he was united in marriage with Annette Labby at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Milwaukee. The couple settled in Milwaukee and started their family. Mr. Gilbertson worked in the lathe plaster business. In 1968 the family moved to Port Washington. Ken was a member of St. Peter of Alcantara Catholic Church and Schanen-VanElls American Legion Post 82. In his younger years Ken loved playing baseball fishing and socializing at the D G Club in Port Washington. He also enjoyed going to ballgames with his son and fishing on Lake Michigan bowling and snowmobiling. He is survived by his loving wife Annette and their four children: Michael (Patti) Gilbertson of Cedarburg Kenneth M. Gilbertson of East Canton OH John Gilbertson of Irving TX and Julie (Jim) Vaughn of Port Washington. He is further survived by 12 grandchildren 13 great-grandchildren brother Peter (Carol) Gilbertson of Des Plaines IL sisters Nancy (Martin) Czerwinski Annette (Larry) Megal both of Menomonee Falls sister Renee Gilbertson of Milwaukee sister-in-law Jean Gilbertson also of Menomonee Falls nieces nephews other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by an infant daughter Linda his parents and his brother Roger Gilbertson. Private burial will take place with Military Honors at Southeastern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Union Grove. A memorial mass will take place at a later time.
