Mr. Ken Boesch of Grafton passed away peacefully early Monday morning, February 17, 2020, at Lasata Care Center in Cedarburg, while surrounded by his family. He was 83 years old.
Kenneth was born in Port Washington on November 29, 1936, son of Edgar and Mary Barth Boesch. Ken was raised on the family farm in Thiensville and attended local schools, often hitch-hiking to get to school in Cedarburg. He graduated from Cedarburg High School, Class of 1955, before serving in the US Army Reserves. Ken took a position with Tecumseh Power Products when he returned.
Ken was united in marriage with Sandy Penkwitz on April 4, 1959 at St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church in Cedarburg. The couple settled in Grafton and raised their family. Mr. Boesch continued to work at Tecumseh in the Service Department, walking to work every day after his morning drive to McDonalds for coffee, until he retired in 2001.
Ken was a faithful member of St. Joseph Catholic Parish in Grafton for over 60 years, where he frequently served as an usher. He was also a member of the Grafton Jaycee Club. Ken was a very social man and maintained close contact with friends. He enjoyed playing cards and played the first Thursday of every month with a group of friends from grade school. Mr. Boesch was passionate about bike riding, and could frequently be seen biking the streets of Grafton. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and family, grilling in the back yard at home with an occasional brandy. His children will always remember him as a great dad and the best grandpa.
Ken is survived by his wife Sandy and their children Ken (Cheryl) Boesch of St. Louis, MO, Sue (Steve) Kahn of Grafton and Sarah (Guy) Augustine of Cedarburg. He is further survived by six grandchildren: Calvin Boesch, Becky (Alex) Oakes, Katie Boesch, Alex Kahn, Elizabeth Augustine and Sydney Kahn, brother Clarence (Maxine) Boesch of Grafton, nieces, nephews, other family and friends. He is preceded in death by three brothers: Frank (the late Delores), Eddie (the late Gertrude) and Elmer (the late Charlotte).
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11AM on Saturday, February 22nd, at St. Joseph Catholic Parish, 1619 Washington St., Grafton. Father Mike Barrett will preside. The family will receive visitors at the CHURCH on Saturday from 9-11AM.
