Obituary

Kelly J. Jeglum passed away on Tuesday, October 6, 2020 at the age of 51. Kelly was born in Babbit, Minnesota on February 27, 1969 to parents James and Arlynne Jeglum. Kelly married Bonnie (nee Schachel) Jeglum on March 10, 1995. He was a strong, loving, giving person. He encouraged others to pursue their dreams. Family was always first. He fought his battle for the last year with grace, dignity, strength, humor and a positive attitude. He attended High School in Milton, Wisconsin and went on to attend UW-Whitewater and UW- Milwaukee obtaining his master's degree. He believed strongly in the value of education, which led him to his career at UW-Milwaukee, where he worked as a network engineer since September 1992. He believed it was his responsibility to support the students as they pursued their education. In his free time, Kelly enjoyed traveling, reading (mostly the purpose of learning) and listening to music. He appreciated the small things in life, the sunrise and sunset, the beauty of the lake, the smile on Bonnie's face, laughter, and seeing our nieces and nephews grow (first steps, first day of school, first jobs, marriage, etc.). Kelly is survived by his wife Bonnie Jeglum, brother Kyle (Lizbeth) Jeglum, nephews and nieces: Jonathan and Joslyn Jeglum, Anthony (Vanessa) Ahrens, Layla Ahrens, Jake Fisch, parents-in-law Harold and Linda Schachel, Brother-in-law Harold Schachel, sister-in-law Cindy Simon and niece and nephew Amber (Sean Clark) Simon and Andrew (Danielle) Simon. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother Corey Jeglum. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, October 16, 2020 at 12:00 NOON at Eernisse Funeral Home 1167 Washington Avenue Cedarburg, Wisconsin 53012. Rev. Don Greer will officiate. Kelly's family will receive visitors from 11:00 AM until the time of service at 12:00 PM. Private family interment to take place at Holden East Cemetery in Port Washington.
