We lost our beloved Kelly F. Green on September 2, 2017. Throughout his life, he was our husband, father, son, brother, and uncle. He blessed our lives by being our soul mate, best friend, teacher, coach, leader, golfing buddy, and comedian. We are better people for knowing him, having loved him and having been loved by him. Kelly was a 1977 Graduate of Oshkosh West High School where he lettered in track and wrestling. He earned his Bachelor's Degree from University of Wisconsin in Madison in 1983 and his teaching degree from UW-Oshkosh in 1985. Kelly earned his Master's Degree from UW-Milwaukee in 1996. As a teacher for the Port Washington-Saukville School District Kelly was an active union leader for over 25 years and served as the grievance chair, chief negotiator and president. Kelly coached basketball, cross country, track, wrestling and golf. He was a mock trial advisor, academic and social mentor, emotional mentor, department chair, and volunteer/chaperone. Kelly also ran for state senate in 1994. Kelly was preceded in death by his father Charles H. Green II. He leaves behind his wife, Robin Nyland, daughters Alissa Nyland and Sofie Green; mother, Beverly Green; siblings Holly (John) Davidson, Charlie Green, and Robin (Dave) Grable; family-in-law Adrienne and Paul Laubenstein, Michael and Lori Nyland, Jorji and Steve Siegmundt and Chris Nyland; and an amazing group of nieces and nephews: Zach, Melissa, Daisy, Ethan, Emily, Jason, Aila, Danielle, Luke, Cam, Stuart, Daryl, Stevie, Charlie, Maegan and Ashlyn. Kelly also leaves many cherished friends and other family members who undoubtedly have great stories of golf, union meetings, classroom antics and summer painting. We invite everyone who knew and loved Kelly to gather to celebrate his life on Thursday, September 7, 2017 from 3-7pm at Eernisse Funeral Home in Cedarburg. At 7:00PM There will be a time of sharing and all are welcome. In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to a scholarship fund being set up in Kelly's honor.
