Grafton resident Karen Ann Schubert passed away unexpectedly at the Aurora Medical Center in Grafton on Saturday February 1, 2020, at the age of 65. Karen was born in Milwaukee on March 29, 1954, the daughter of Carl and Marie (Nee Ehrlich) Ratzer. After graduating from John Marshall High in Milwaukee, she was united in marriage to Robert Schubert in 1984 at St. Margaret-Mary Parish in Milwaukee. Karen was a longtime employee of Ozaukee Bank and then BMO Harris Bank.
She is the Beloved wife of Robert Schubert of Grafton; Loving mother of Christopher (Chelsea Matthew) Schubert of Grafton and Melissa (Jim) Doherty of Saukville; Proud grandmother of Hannah Doherty of Saukville and Dear sister of Christine (Ron) Fountain, Carla (William) Schubert and Laurie (Mike Madsen) Schenk. Also survived by other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral Service 6:30 PM on Friday February 7, 2020, at the Eernisse Funeral Home, 1167 Washington Ave., in Cedarburg. Private interment St. Joseph Parish Cemetery. The family will greet relatives and friends on Friday at the funeral home from 4:00 PM until time of the Service.
Karen's greatest joy in life was being a mother. She found beauty all around her in nature and the flowers she grew around her home. Other hobbies include photography, sewing and knitting. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Froedtert Medical College Cancer Clinic or WOCA (Wisconsin Ovarian Cancer Alliance) are appreciated.
