Karen G. Nerbun, age 78 of Port Washington, passed away at Lawlis Family Hospice on Thursday, February 9, 2017. Karen was born on November 13, 1938 in Waukesha, Wisconsin to Roy and Dorothy (nee Heinzelmann) Kohlhaas. Karen and her husband William were united in marriage on May 9, 1959 at St. Anthony on the Lake Parish in Pewaukee, Wisconsin. Karen was a devout Catholic and a longtime member of St. Mary's Catholic Church (now St. John XXIII Parish). Her greatest gift was the love she gave to her family. She was instrumental in her children's', grandchildren's', and great-grandchildren's' lives. Karen is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, William A. Nerbun, five children; Rhandi P. Berth of Milwaukee, Kelley M. (Dan) Keller of Port Washington, Roy J. Nerbun of Fredonia, Jodi L. (Patrick) Parker of Belgium, and Glen W. Nerbun of Port Washington. She is further survived by 9 grandchildren; Daniel A. Berth Jr., Crystal L. (Vince) Keller, Thomas J. Keller, Paul J. Keller, Holli J.E. Kapphahn, Jeffrey J. Nerbun, Trevor J. Niesing, Cassandra L. Niesing, and Sarah M. Parker, 10 great-grandchildren; Sydney A. Keller, Traeson J. Keller, Corbin J. Keller, Peyton J. Keller, Finley P. Keller, Beckham D. Keller, Colton R. Kapphahn, Aaliyah R.K. Howell, Kara L. Nerbun, and Pryce C. Nerbun, other relatives and friends. Karen is preceded in death by her parents, brother Kenneth Kohlhaas and grandson Joseph Daniel Keller. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, February 15, 2017, at St. John XXIII Parish – St. Mary's Catholic Church 430 North Johnson Street Port Washington, Wisconsin 53074 at 6:30 PM. Father Patrick Wendt will preside over the Mass. Visitation will be held at the Eernisse Funeral Home, 1600 W. Grand Ave., Port Washington, from 4:30 until 6:00 PM. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions to St. John XXIII Parish. Interment will take place at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery in Duplainville, WI.
