Obituary

Karen Anne (Zimmermann) Driscoll, longtime resident of Cedarburg, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, 26 February, 2025 at the age of 86. Full of love and resilience, she touched the lives of many people who knew her. Her journey in life was marked by her relentless support of those in need and those who were struggling.

Karen was born on 27 September 1938, the beloved daughter of the late Leila Zimmermann. She grew up in Cascade, WI and graduated from Plymouth High School in 1956. She was a proud alumna of the University of Wisconsin-Madison, having graduated in 1960 with a Bachelors of Science in Elementary Education. In 1983, Karen earned a Master of Science and Management from Cardinal Stritch University.

Karen loved children. She dedicated herself to nurturing young minds in a wide variety of areas, including Montessori, early and elementary education, as well as Spanish language. For many years Karen served as a consultant to, and administrator of day care centers.

Having grown up on Lake Ellen, Karen loved to be near the water. She was passionate about escaping the cold winter months in search of warmth, sun and sand. She was especially fond of Sanibel Island and Marco Island, Florida.

Karen is survived by Gerald Driscoll, with whom she shared six children, Maureen (Blaine) Gibson, Margaret (Michael) Schommer, Kathryn (Patrick) O'Connell, Gerald (Lisa) Driscoll Jr. and Patti (Mark) Kornetzke. "G.G.," is remembered by her fourteen grandchildren, George, Brian, Emily, Brennan, John, Lauren, Zach, Sam, Ryan, Matthew, Willy, Brady, Tess and Liam, as well as seven great-grandchildren. She is further survived by her brothers Ray Zimmermann and Nick Zimmermann as well as her nieces, nephews and friends.

Karen was predeceased by her mother Leila Zimmermann; brothers Joel (Gail) Zimmermann and Jules Zimmermann and her son Patrick Driscoll.
