Julius Bendt age 82 years of Port Washington died Saturday morning Dec. 13 2008 at Heritage Nursing Home in Port Washington. He was born January 25 1926 in Tartu Estonia son of Ewald and Minna Aasarand Bendt.nbsp; He served in the US Army from 1953-1955 and worked as a welder at Simplicity Mfg. for 26 years retiring in 1990. On July 4 1959 he married Betty Gall at Friedens Church. nbsp;nbsp;He was a member of Friedens Evangelical Church in Port Washington and Friedens Brotherhood.nbsp; He was a former Sunday School teacher Cub Scout and Boy Scout leader and enjoyed gardening working in his yard and spending time with his two granddaughters.nbsp; He is survived by his wife Betty of Port Washington his son Michael (Debra) Bendt of Port Washington and two grandchildren Lauren and Erin.nbsp; Following interment in Union Cemetery Port Washington with military honors nbsp;a visitation will take place at Friedens Church 454 N.
