IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Julie A.
Jennings
July 28, 1968 – November 20, 2024
Julie Ann Jennings (Weber), age 56, of Mequon, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on November 20, 2024, surrounded by family, after a determined, four-year battle against pancreatic cancer. Born on July 28, 1968, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Julie was the daughter of Joan Weber (Netzler) and the late Gerald Weber.
Known for her thoughtful nature, Julie had a remarkable ability to make everyone feel seen and valued. Whether it was through a heartfelt compliment to someone she just met, a perfectly chosen thrift store gift she knew would brighten someone's day ("I saw this and thought of you!"), or a kind word during a difficult time, Julie's genuine warmth touched countless lives. She had no filter when it came to compliments; they just came out and they were beautiful.
Her laughter was contagious. Julie found humor in everyday life, but also used humor to cope with even the most difficult of circumstances. She shared her love of laughter with others by texting the perfect humorous memes to friends and family members and sharing funny stories.
Julie was well known for her beautiful sense of style and attention to detail, often expressing herself by wearing numerous necklaces, bracelets, and rings. She loved strolling through art fairs, stopping at every jewelry designer along the way, drawn to unique pieces that complemented her style (especially if they were teal!).
An avid reader, Julie loved language and storytelling. She always sought to find the perfect words, whether she was writing a personal email, a text or a professional communication, writing and rewriting until it was perfect and often infusing her wonderful sense of humor into the message. Julie's creative attention to detail extended into her professional life, where she excelled in a decades-long career in banking and compliance at M&I Bank/BMO Harris Bank.
Julie is survived by her son, Grayson Robert Jennings, who she loved with all her heart; her mother, Joan Weber; and her partner of 12 years, Dan Zrubek. She is also survived by her brothers, Brian Weber (Leslie), John Weber, and Robert (Bob) Weber (Maria); Grayson's father, Robert Jennings; and extended family and many cherished friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Gerald Weber.
Julie's Golden Retriever, Winston, brought her immeasurable joy and, in lieu of flowers, donations in Julie's memory may be made to the Ozaukee County Humane Society and Family Sharing.
The family extends their deepest gratitude to the exceptional medical staff who provided skilled and compassionate care throughout Julie's illness. Not surprisingly, throughout her four-year journey, Julie came to know members of her care team, taking the time to learn about them and their families and creating meaningful relationships at a time when she could have easily focused solely on herself. She also offered to talk to other patients, telling them her story, expressing genuine concern for them, and helping to ease their minds about their own difficult journeys.
Wherever life took her, Julie's generous spirit, thoughtful nature, and sense of humor carried her through even the most challenging times with grace and kindness. Those who knew her were truly fortunate to have shared in her extraordinary light. She will be deeply missed.
A memorial celebration of Julie's life will take place on Friday, December 6, from 4–6 p.m. at Eernisse Funeral Homes & Cremation Service, 1167 Washington Avenue, Cedarburg, Wisconsin. Family and friends are invited to honor her memory, share stories, and celebrate the beautiful legacy she leaves behind, at a service at 6:00 PM at the FUNERAL HOME.
