Mrs. Judy Provance of Mequon passed away at her home on Saturday afternoon, September 20, 2025. She was 86 years old.

Judy was born on July 9, 1939, in Bourbonnais, IL, the daughter of Virgil and Pauline (nee Barnfield) Paquette. Following her bachelor's degree in education from Illinois State University in Normal, she went on to become a teacher at senior and junior high schools in Forest and Troy, IL.

On July 20, 1963, Judy was united in marriage with George Provance in Kankakee, IL. The couple moved to their current home in Mequon in 1967. There, she pursued her greatest passion, raising her family.

Judy was a member of Lumen Christi Catholic Church in Mequon. She was an avid reader, enjoying mystery, crime, and romance novels above other genres. She loved traveling with George to visit National Parks across the country and taking cruises to places such as Alaska, Hawaii, and the Galapagos Islands. In her younger days, she enjoyed bowling and golf. Judy treasured time with her family above all else.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband George, sons Michael (Anne) Provance and Stephen (Tobey) Provance, grandson Nathaniel "Jack" (Maeve), and granddaughter Daphne. She is further survived by her brothers, Norman (Earline) Paquette and James (Laura) Paquette, nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends. Judy is preceded in death by her parents, Virgil and Pauline, and her brother Richard (Lisa) Paquette.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM on Friday, September 26, 2025, at Lumen Christi Catholic Church, 2750 W. Mequon Road, Mequon. The family will receive guests at the church on Friday from 10 AM until Mass begins at 11 AM.

Judy was a 30-year breast cancer survivor and donated to that cause for the rest of her life. Donations to the American Cancer Society in lieu of flowers would be welcome.
