Judith Lee "Judy" Kuta (née Knuth), of Grafton, passed away unexpectedly at home on June 25, 2026, at the age of 81.

Judy was born on August 8, 1944, in Milwaukee to Emil and Elizabeth (née Draeger) Knuth. She lived a life grounded in faith, love, and service to others, leaving an enduring legacy in the hearts of all who knew her.

Judy was the beloved wife of Ronald Kuta, with whom she shared 58 wonderful years of marriage. She was a devoted mother and a proud grandmother. Her family was her greatest joy, and she celebrated each of them with unwavering love and encouragement. Her love and pride in each of them was evident to everyone around her.

Her strong faith in the Lord guided every aspect of her life. Judy believed that serving others was one of God's greatest callings, whether through a kind word, a helping hand, or quiet acts of generosity, she faithfully found countless ways to care for those around her.

Judy began her career as an elementary school teacher before staying home to raise her daughters. She later served as a substitute teacher and worked in Special Education before transitioning into administrative positions in the medical field. She also worked part-time at Kohl's Department Store, where she was respected for her dedication, strong work ethic, and exceptional customer service.

She generously devoted her time to numerous organizations that reflected her heart for service including the Women's Guild at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Interfaith Caregivers of Ozaukee County, and the American Legion Auxiliary. A passionate advocate for veterans and their families, Judy served the Auxiliary in numerous leadership roles, including State Chaplain, Rose Harms Auxiliary President, County President, and District President. She especially enjoyed visiting local schools, with her dear friend Amy, to teach students about the American flag, the POW/MIA table, and the importance of honoring those who served our country. She believed deeply in preserving these traditions and ensuring future generations understood the meaning behind them.

Whether through a handwritten card, a plate of homemade treats, or a warm smile, Judy had a gift for making everyone feel loved.

Judy found joy in crafting, baking, and spending time with family and friends. She loved the activities at Providence Place Senior Living, where her caring spirit made lasting friendships. Her kindness, generosity, and willingness to help others touched countless lives.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents; her twin sister, Sharon; and her siblings Jimmy, Dick, Margie, Mary, Hazel, Carol, and Barbara.

She is survived by her loving husband, Ronald; her daughters, Elizabeth (Brian) Witthun and Kimberly (Bruce) Paulson; her grandsons, Evan (Carlie) Witthun, Ethan (Caryn) Witthun, and Joshua Paulson; along with many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends, fellow church members, and countless others whose lives were blessed by knowing her.

Though she will be deeply missed, Judy's family finds peace in knowing that her steadfast faith has become sight. She is now joyfully walking in the arms of Jesus. Her life of faith, compassion, and service leaves a legacy that will continue to inspire all who knew and loved her.

A Funeral Service will take place at 12 p.m. on July 10, 2026, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 701 Washington St., Grafton, WI 53024. Visitation from 10 a.m. until the time of service.  Judy will be laid to rest at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to The Grafton American Legion Auxiliary, Providence Place Senior Living, or St. Paul Lutheran Church Grafton.
