IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Judith C.
Gloede
April 28, 1941 – December 1, 2024
Mrs. Judy Gloede of Fredonia passed away peacefully early Sunday morning, December 1, 2024, at New Perspectives in West Bend. She was 83 years old.
Judith was born in Sheboygan on April 28, 1941, daughter of Alois and Laura (nee Paape) Biever. The family lived in Port Washington and Judy attended local schools, graduating from Port Washington High School, Class of 1959.
Judy married Ira Laubenstein in 1960; he was killed following a work accident in 1963.
On July 17, 1965, Judy was united in marriage with Henry "Hank" Gloede at St. Paul's Community Church in Waubeka. The couple settled in the Town of Fredonia and raised their family of three boys. The couple enjoyed traveling together and attending Green Bay Packers games, for which they held season tickets. Hank preceded Judy in death in 2021.
Mrs. Gloede was employed by Ozaukee County Health & Human Services for 20 years, retiring in 2000.
Judy was a faithful member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Grafton, as well as a longtime member of Lutherans For Life, of which she was a past-president. Mrs. Gloede was an accomplished quilter, enjoyed knitting, and liked to spend time tending her flowers in her garden and in her home. She had a soft spot for the family dogs, Cody and Bear, and tolerated the cats.
Those left to cherish her memory include her sons Randal (fiancée Wendy Carstensen) Gloede of West Bend, Mark (Kerry) Gloede of La Crosse, and David (Irene) Gloede. She is further survived by sister Barbara (Erhard) Jobs, nieces, nephews, other family and friends. Judy is preceded in death by husband Ira Laubenstein, husband of 56 years Henry Gloede, sister Betty Strohmeyer, infant brother Aloysius Biever, nephew Joseph Jobs, and her parents Alois and Laura.
Private family services will be held; Judy will be laid to rest beside her husband in St. Paul Cemetery, Waubeka.
The family would like to extend their thanks and gratitude to Lily Hospice and the staff at New Perspectives for the wonderful care they gave Judy.
The Eernisse Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Online condolences may be left at www.eernissefuneralhome.com .
