JOSEPH C. SCHMID Mr. Joe Schmid of Grafton passed away unexpectedly at Froedtert Lutheran Memorial Hospital in Wauwatosa on Saturday February 16 2008. He was 56 years old. Joseph was born in Milwaukee on June 27 1951 son of Robert and Lydia Dlapa Schmid. After he finished his schooling Joe enlisted in the United States Navy and served on Diego Garcia BIOT and Skaggs Island Naval Base in California from 1973-1979. He was united in marriage with Joyce Michalski on June 1 1973 at St. Rita's Catholic Church in West Allis. The couple lived in Milwaukee before moving their family to Grafton in 1987. Mr. Schmid was a lead network engineer and had worked with Outsourcing Solutions Inc. in New Berlin for the last 5 years. Joe was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Grafton. He enjoyed wine tasting photography traveling and lately had been very interested in geo-caching. Mr. Schmid is survived by his wife Joyce their children Joseph (Alicia) and Jennifer Schmid and granddaughter Elizabeth all of Grafton and mother-in-law Delores Michalski of Milwaukee. He is further survived by 2 brothers: Robert (Lynn) Schmid of Saukville and Mark (Rita) Schmid of Random Lake 2 brothers-in-law: David (Joyce) Michalski of Hickory Hills IL and Robert (Judy) Michalski of Greenfield nieces nephews 5 godchildren other relatives and many friends. He is preceded in death by his parents and his father-in-law Robert Michalski. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday February 21 at 7PM at St. Joseph's Catholic Church 1619 Washington Ave. Grafton. Fr. Stephen Lampe will officiate. He will be laid to rest at a later time at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Milwaukee. The family will receive visitors at the CHURCH on Thursday from 3-7PM.
