Joseph "Joe" H. Schaefer, of Grafton, went to be with the Lord on Friday, November 24, 2023, with his loving family by his side. Joe was born on October 3, 1942, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to the late Lester and Frances (Handlos) Schaefer. He graduated from Menomonee Falls High School with the class of 1960.

On August 2, 1980, he married the love of his life, Rose Haberichter. They spent over 40 years together, traveling whenever they got the chance.

Having his boat on Lake Michigan was always one of his favorite past times. His boat "Rose Marie" and boating were his pride and joy next to Rose. He was always adventurous and ready to start making new memories. Joe enjoyed a variety of hobbies, from downhill skiing to playing tennis.

He was a skilled Steam Fitter by trade and owned his own business System Service LTD for almost 30 years. His career spanned over 36 years. He took great pride in his craft and enjoyed inventing and patented pneumatic controls.

His memory will live on in those he leaves behind; his wife Rose; his sisters Mary (James) Pickart and Susan Williams, his sisters-in-law, Karleen, Elaine, and Sharon Haberichter, along with many other nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers-in-law Robert Williams and Charles Haberichter along with his niece Ann Williams.

A mass of Christian burial will take place on Tuesday, December 5, 2023, at 1:00 PM at Alexian Village, 9301 North 78th Street, Milwaukee, Rev Joe Jagodensky will be presiding. The family will receive friends and relatives from 12:30 PM until the time of service. A private interment at Lakefield Cemetery will be held.
