JOSEPH L. MASNAGHETTI III "Maz" Joe Masnaghetti of Port Washington, formerly of Cedarburg, passed away at his residence October 23, 2018 at the age of 65. Joe was born in Portage, WI on February 16, 1953, son of Joseph and Elenore Sarbacker Masnaghetti., Jr. The family lived in Hawaii before settling in Cedarburg while Joe was in high school. He graduated from Cedarburg High School, Class of 1972 before serving briefly in the US Navy. On June 21, 1978, Joe was united in marriage with Mary Steffen in Waubeka. The couple lived in Cedarburg and had two daughters, Haley and Linda. Mr. Masnaghetti worked in the pyrotechnics industry for over 40 years, most recently with J & M Displays since 2001. He loved fireworks and was a member of the Pyrotechnics Guild International (PGI). Maz was also a history buff and enjoyed TV, historical movies and documentaries. He is survived by his daughters Haley (Jeffrey) Peterson of Cedarburg and Linda (Ronin) Bartels of Port Washington, grandchildren Jack, Henry and Violet, and his former wife Mary Steffen of Sheboygan. He is further survived by his sister Jackie (the late Jim) Stowell and her children Tom (Mary) Stowell, all of Cuba City, and Heidi Stowell of Brookfield, and brother Harold "Tom" (Ellen) Masnaghetti, and their children Steven and Alex, all of New Jersey as well as cousins Connie and Jacky U'Ren of South Milwaukee. Joe will be missed by many other friends, family and his fireworks crew. He is preceded in death by his parents. A Memorial Service will be held at 7PM on Tuesday, October 30, 2018 at the Eernisse Funeral Home, 1600 W. Grand Ave., Port Washington. The family will receive visitors at the Funeral Home on Tuesday from 4-7PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the ADRC of Ozaukee County, in acknowledgement of the wonderful services they have helped to provide Joe and his family with the last few years.
