Joseph J. Kultgen Mr. Joe Kultgen of Middle Road in Belgium passed away at Belgium Gardens Tuesday afternoon November 16 2004. He was 83 years old. Joe was born in the Town of Belgium on June 24 1921 the son of Joseph and Anna Rock Kultgen. He served in the US Army during World War II and on May 8th 1948 he was united in marriage with Viola Grabinger at St. Nicholas Catholic Church Dacada. The couple farmed in the Town of Belgium and Joe also worked at the Gilt Edge Foundry in Cedar Grove from 1967 until 1981. Viola preceded him in death in 1985. On December 17 1993 Joe was united in marriage with Dolores Gonwa at St. Mary Catholic Church in Lake Church. Mr. Kultgen was a lifetime member of Our Lady of the Lakes Parish St. Nicholas Chapel Dacada and belonged to the Belgium American Legion Post 412. He enjoyed woodworking walking going to antique tractor shows and auctions and eating good home-cooked food. He liked to watch wrestling and enjoyed socializing with friends family and people in the community. Joe is survived by his wife Dolores of Belgium a daughter Patricia (Glenn) Koeser of Oostburg 2 sons: Donald (Ann) Kultgen and Steven (Debbie) Kultgen both of Random Lake 6 grandchildren: Karla Janell Abby and Kyle Kultgen Susie (Adam) Osypowski and Nick Koeser 1 great-grandson Ian Osypowski and 1 brother Alfred (Angie) Kultgen of Port Washington. He is further survived by 2 stepchildren: Leon (Diane) Anzia of Belgium and Doris (Tom) Schwebel of Sheboygan 8 step-grandchildren 4 step great-grandchildren nieces nephews other relatives and many friends. He is preceded in death by his first wife Viola his son Joseph a sister Marcella Kultgen and 2 brothers Ray and Ervin Kultgen. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday November 19 2004 at Our Lady of the Lakes Parish St. Nicholas Chapel Dacada starting at 7PM. Fr. Richard Cerpich will officiate. Joe will be laid to rest in the parish cemetery. The family will receive visitors Friday at the Church from 3-7PM . Memorials are suggested to Belgium Gardens or the Alzheimer's Association.
