Obituary

Joseph C. Murphy Mr. Joe Murphy formerly of Hendersonville NC and Watertown and Sheboygan WI passed away Saturday evening February 22 2014 at Gables on the Pond in Random Lake WI. He was 86 years old. Joe was born January 19 1928 in Boston MA the son of James and Blanche McDuff Murphy. After graduation he proudly served his country in the United States Army Air Force. He attended MIT where he earned a degree in mechanical engineering. On September 26 1953 he was united in marriage with Carol Conn in White Lake WI. Joe was a proud teacher and engineer and taught at Blue Ridge Technical College in NC prior to his retirement. After retirement he continued to tutor in the community high schools. Joe had been a member of the Lions Club International in Hendersonville NC and the Kiwanis Club in Watertown WI. For many years Joe and Carol sponsored AFS sons. Joe enjoyed reading swimming sailing and traveling. Joe is survived by his wife Carol and their four daughters: Patty (Dean) Kleist of Port Washington Brenda (Rod) Johnson of Hendersonville NC Katie (Steve) Kershner of Ft. Lauderdale FL and Sherri (Howard) Culbreth of Troutman NC. He is further survived by 10 grandchildren 2 great-grandchildren special brother-in-law Joe Seidl of Cheboygan MI sister-in-law Genie (Herb) Buettner of White Lake WI brother-in-law John Conn of Thiensville WI AFS son Paulo (Ana) Ferreira of Brazil many nieces and nephews other relatives and friends. Joe is preceded in death by his parents brothers James John and David and other dear family members. Funeral Services will be held at 2PM on Saturday March 1 at Eernisse Funeral Home 1600 W. Grand Ave. Port Washington. Pastor Gordon Oliver will officiate. Joe will be laid to rest at St. Mary's Cemetery in Port Washington. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Saturday from 1-2PM. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer's Association. The Eernisse Funeral Home is honored to be assisting the family with arrangements.
