Joseph Voeller of Port Washington passed away surrounded by his loving family in the evening hours of Sunday September 28 2014 at Columbia St. Mary's Hospital in Mequon. He was 86 years old. Joe was born in Pleasant Lake ND son of Rochus Voeller and Katherine Wentz Voeller. He served his country in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. On June 3 1961 Joe married Shirley Selle at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Port Washington. In January of 1961 Joe along with his brothers Edward and Adrian started Voeller Inc. in Port Washington. The three brothers worked side by side building and growing their company until they retired in December of 2002. Joe was a member of St. Peter of Alcantara Catholic Church and Van Ells-Schanen American Legion Post 82 in Port Washington. Joe enjoyed working outside on his lawn fishing hunting and gambling. He is survived by his wife Shirley of Port Washington and his two children Steven (Jody) Voeller of Saukville and Lisa (John Jr.) Lazore of Fredonia. He is further survived by five grandchildren: Morgan Hannah and Ava Voeller and John III and Joseph Lazore two brothers Al (Lois) Voeller of Broken Arrow OK and Adrian (Pat) Voeller of Port Washington nieces nephews other relatives and many friends. He is preceded in death by his parents and his two brothers Roy and Edward Voeller. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday October 2nd at 6 PM at St. Peter of Alcantara Catholic Church 1800 N. Wisconsin St. Port Washington. Father Pat Wendt will preside. Joe will be laid to rest with military honors in St. Mary's Cemetery Port Washington. Visitation will be held at the CHURCH on Thursday October 2nd from 4-6 PM. In lieu of flowers memorials suggested to the American Heart Association or the Stars and Stripes Honor Flight. The Eernisse Funeral Home Port Washington is honored to serve the family.
