Joyfully with his Savior, Jon Waldhuetter, of the Town of Belgium, passed away at his residence in the evening hours of Monday, April 26, 2021. He was 73 years old.
Jon was born in Milwaukee on January 6, 1948, son of John Waldhuetter Jr. and Dolores Haerter Waldhuetter. He grew up in Milwaukee, graduating from Custer High School with the class of 1966. After high school, he attended North Central College in Naperville, IL, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology and sociology and a teaching certificate. After college, Jon worked as a journeyman carpenter, he started the very successful branch of the Sheboygan Falls YMCA, and was a Field Operations Manager for Quasius Construction in Sheboygan, until finding his true calling as the Dean of Apprenticeship, Building Trades, and Barber/Cosmetology at Moraine Park Technical College. In retirement he greatly enjoyed working at Home Depot in Grafton as a greeter.
On June 12, 1995 Jon married Susan Tesch (nee Braun) in Milwaukee. The couple made their home in the town of Belgium where Jon enjoyed fishing, hunting, cutting his grass on his lawn tractor, building things and creating art out of wood. He was also an active member of St. Matthew Ev. Lutheran Church in Port Washington.
Jon is survived by his wife Susan of the Town of Belgium, his children Bradley (Pam Maleck) of Kiel, Kimberli M. Koeppen of Plymouth, stepsons Timothy (Rebecca) Tesch of Montgomery, TX, and Andrew Tesch of Milwaukee. He is further survived by six grandchildren: Jonathan and Christopher Waldhuetter, Michael and Erin Koeppen, Aaron (Vienna) Sonntag, and Barrett (Rachel) Sonntag, great-granddaughter Austria Sonntag, former wife Priscilla (Scott Otterson) Waldhuetter, former daughter-in-law Kimberly L. Waldhuetter, former son-in-law Lee Koeppen, cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, stepson Michael and his wife Nicki Tesch, his grandson Dakota Waldhuetter, brother-in-law Tom Endres and sister-in-law Patricia Kuehn.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 8, 2021 at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 1525 N. Grant St, Port Washington, with visitation from 3 PM until the service at 5 PM. Rev. Martin Wildauer will preside over the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials suggested to the St. Matthew Ev. Church Organ Maintenance Fund or the Sheboygan Falls YMCA.
