JOHN OTTO GUTTMANN nbsp; Mr. John Guttmann of North Main Street in Cedar Grove passed away unexpectedly at St. Nicholas Hospital in Sheboygan on Friday April 23 2010.nbsp; He was 88 years old. nbsp;nbsp;John was born in Mequon on October 30 1921 son of John P. and Rosalie Theiland Guttmann.nbsp; nbsp;nbsp;While working at a greenhouse he met Marie Schlopmann.nbsp; The couple was united in marriage on March 26 1941 at St. James Catholic Church in Mequon.nbsp; John entered the service of the United States Army shortly afterwards serving in World War II as a glider paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne.nbsp; Later the couple settled in Brown Deer to raise their family.nbsp; Mr. Guttmann worked as a salesman for Peerless Industrial Cleaners for 27 years then later at Mamp;I Bank in the Data Center until he retired in 1993.nbsp; They moved to Cedar Grove and John became the groundskeeper for Cedar Grove-Belgium Schools until 2003.nbsp; Marie preceded him in death in 1993.nbsp; Mr. Guttmann was a former member of St. Catherine Catholic Church and was a member of St. Mary Lake Church.nbsp; He enjoyed horses woodworking landscaping biking family and friends.nbsp; He loved a good game of sheepshead and would frequently play Bingo with the folks at Belgium Gardens.nbsp; John is survived by his two daughters: Karen Guttmann of Belgium Gardens and Lori (Jeffery) Retzlaff of Cedar Grove his two brothers Leo Guttmann of Grafton and Frank Guttmann of West Bend sister-in-law Evelyn Guttmann of Thiensville nieces nephews other relatives and friends.nbsp; He is preceded in death by his wife Marie his sister Martha Chmielewski and his brothers Andrew and Robert Guttmann.nbsp; Funeral Services will be held at 6:30 PM on Monday April 26th at the Eernisse Funeral Home 171 N. Royal St. in Belgium (Hwy LL amp; Park St.).nbsp; Father Guy Garath will officiate.nbsp; John will be laid to rest beside his wife at Resurrection Cemetery Mequon.nbsp; The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Monday from 4PM- 6:30 PM.nbsp;nbsp;In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested in Johnrsquo;s name to the Wisconsin Honors Flight program. nbsp;nbsp;br /Service:br /p6:30 PM at Eernisse Funeral Home - Belgium Chapel 171 N.
