John Joseph "JJ" Miller of Fredonia passed away unexpectedly early Tuesday morning, November 7, 2023, in Milwaukee. He was 39 years old.

JJ was born in Milwaukee on November 27, 1983, son of Mark and Jan (nee Hogoboom) Miller. He grew up in Fredonia and attended local schools, graduating from Ozaukee High School, Class of 2002, before earning his BA in Arts Management from UW Stevens Point in 2006.

On January 6, 2010, JJ was united in marriage with Courtney Spangler. The couple was blessed with three children before their paths diverged.

JJ was a loving father to Riley, Quinn, and Juliette who brought him immense joy and pride. There was nothing in life that made JJ happier than spending time with his children.

Golf was a passion of JJ's. In the last few years, he enjoyed a different approach to the sport and caddied at Whistling Straits and Sand Valley. JJ also loved disc golf, attending concerts with his friends and spending time with family particularly on their annual trip to Boyd's Mason Lake Resort.

Those left to cherish his memory include his son Riley, daughters Quinn and Juliette, their mother Courtney Miller, as well as his mother Jan Miller, and siblings Sarah Ludwig, Samantha (Aaron) Peterka, and David (Mackenzie) Miller. JJ is further survived by five nieces and nephews: Mason, Audrey, Stella, Sydney, and Phoebe, aunts, uncles, cousins, other family and many friends. He is preceded in death by his father Mark Miller, nephew Kellen, grandparents Jack "JJ" & Audrey Miller and Bill & Sarah Hogoboom, and cousin Jan Hogoboom .

JJ's outgoing personality and infectious laugh will be missed by all who knew him.

A gathering to celebrate JJ's life will be held on Sunday, November 26th at Boots BBQ/Waubeka Fire Hall from 1:00-4:00pm.W4121 Center St, Waubeka, WI 53021

Memorials, if desired, may be directed to the family to pay for the future education expenses of JJ's children.
