Obituary

Mr. John L. Raymer of S. 75th St. in West Allis passed away Sunday afternoon May 10 2009 at St. Lukersquo;s Medical Center in Milwaukee. He was 73 years old. John was born May 15 1935 in Oklahoma son of John and Edna Nordyke Raymer. After graduating from college in Oklahoma John moved to the Milwaukee area to work for B. Artin Haig Studios. On November 21 1979 he was united in his second marriage with Janet Allard (nee Vajgrt) at Ozaukee Baptist Church in Cedarburg and settled in the Port Washington area. Mr. Raymer became an instructor of photography and computer graphics at MATC downtown Campus. After his retirement in the late 1990rsquo;s the couple decided to travel the country in their RV. They began spending summers in Random Lake and winters in New Braunfels TX.nbsp; The couple enjoyed traveling photographing covered bridges and attending ice skating competitions across the country. John was a member of the Bel Canto Choir in Milwaukee and sang with the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra. He loved opera music researching his family geneology and spending time with his grandchildren. John is survived by his five children: Elizabeth (John) Lamberty of Oconomowoc Doug Raymer of Bay View Kathleen (Rob) Schmitt of Milwaukee Kenneth (Sandra) Allard of Manitowoc and Barbara (Erich) Hillmann of Cedarburg 8 grandchildren and one on the way. He is further survived by one brother Ellis (Dalene) Raymer of Woodward OK and one sister-in-law Arden (Leo) Hetchler of New Braunfels TX nieces nephews many relatives and friends. His wife Jan preceded him in death in January 2001. Private graveside services will be held at Union Cemetery Port Washington. The family will receive visitors at the Eernisse Funeral Home 1600 W. Grand Ave. in Port Washington on Thursday evening May 14 2009 from 5-7PM. The Eernisse Funeral Home Port Washington is assisting the family with arrangements.
