JOHN J. LICHT JR. Mr. John J. Licht Jr. a resident of Las Vegas NV and formerly of Cedarburg passed away peacefully November 5 2013 following a valiant battle with cancer. He was 64 years old. John was born in Cedarburg on January 17 1949 son of John J. and Lucille Hildebrandt Licht. He attended local schools and graduated from Cedarburg High School with the Class of 1967. John proudly served in the US Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. On October 22 1989 he was united in marriage with Kathleen Braatz in Cedarburg. The couple later moved to Las Vegas in 1997. John had many accomplishments in his lifetime: he was a member of the American Legion a Boy Scout leader and a volunteer coach for youth sports. John also volunteered his time by maintaining several local parks in Las Vegas. Mr. Licht worked as a union sheet metal worker in both Wisconsin and Nevada for 42 years retiring in 2011. He was well liked and respected by his union brothers. John is survived by his wife of 24 years Kathleen their three children: Justyn Licht of Medford WI Jonathan Licht of Las Vegas and Stewart Goforth of Hartford WI and two grandsons Dacien Licht of Las Vegas and Nolan Goforth of Hartford. He is further survived by his mother Lucille Licht of Cedarburg sisters Jacqueline Lewaren of Green Bay and Jennifer (Robert) Callies of Saukville and brother James J. Licht of Cedarburg nieces nephews other relatives and many friends. He is preceded in death by his father John J. Licht Sr.. A memorial in Johns name will be held Saturday December 14th at the Eernisse Funeral Home 1167 Washington Ave. Cedarburg. The family will receive visitors from 10AM until 12 noon.
