Mr. John J. Lapinski. nbsp; John Lapinski formerly of Milwaukee passed away Wednesday afternoon January 7 2009 at Belgium Gardens where he had resided with his wife for the last 4 years. He was 92 years old. John was born September 13 1916 in Hamburg WI the son of Joseph and Anna Kulas Lapinski. On November 29 1941 he was united in marriage with Cecelia Strobel in Milwaukee. Mr. Lapinski proudly served his country in the United States Navy during WWII. He was employed as a bricklayer and later as a janitor. Mr. Lapinski had previously been a member of Corpus Christi Congregation in Milwaukee. John a devoted husband to his wife Cecelia enjoyed playing cribbage and visiting his brotherrsquo;s farm where he helped grow vegetables. He is survived by his wife Cecelia of Belgium two brothers: Ray (Christine) Lapinski of Cedar Grove and Chester (Anna) Lapinski of Marshfield and 16 nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by one brother and two sisters. Funeral Services will be held at 5PM on Tuesday January 13 2009 at the Eernisse Funeral Home 171 N. Royal Ave. in Belgium. Father James Ernster will officiate. John will be laid to rest at Holy Cross Cemetery in Milwaukee. The family will receive visitors on Tuesday from 4-5PM at the nbsp;Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to the Ozaukee County Stars and Stripes Honor Flight Program. The family would like to thank everyone from Belgium Gardens and Heartland Hospice for their compassionate care and support.
