John Neal Haskey, 70, of Cedarburg, Wisconsin, passed away on April 3, 2026, surrounded by the family he loved so deeply.
He was born on September 13, 1955, in Milwaukee to Robert and Evelyn (Miller) Haskey. John grew up in Milwaukee with his siblings in a close-knit and lively home. He graduated early from Custer High School in 1975 to join the U.S. Army serving 2 years including time stationed in Korea. Following his military service, he continued his education at MATC, where he earned an associate degree in Electrical Technology - Biomedical Electronics.
John built a career centered on helping others. He was a co-owner of Southeast Home Medical with business partners, where he developed both his expertise and entrepreneurial spirit. He later went on to start his own business, Alexco Associates, taking great pride in serving his community by working with the VA Medical Center to service power wheelchairs for veterans there and throughout the state. He proudly volunteered his time as part of the pit crew for the Veterans Wheelchair games.
On July 22, 1978, John married Cheryl Magnant in Milwaukee. Together they built a life grounded in family, raising two children, Brittany and Kevin, and later welcoming four granddaughters, Emmeline, Evelyn, Charlotte, and Ellison, who brought him immense joy. John found joy in life’s simple moments. He loved spending time with family, whether grilling in the backyard, relaxing in his hot tub, gathering around the table for a spirited game of cards, or taking family vacations. Over the years, his home always had a well-loved cat. He enjoyed bowling, was an avid collector with a special fondness for coins and cat figurines, and remained a loyal Green Bay Packers fan. More than anything, he will be remembered for the way he showed up for those he loved.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Cheryl; his children, Brittany and Kevin; his beloved grandchildren; his brothers, Robert (Elaine) Haskey and Frank (Maria) Haskey; his sister-in-law, Jayne Haskey; and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Kenneth Haskey; and his sisters, Judy Haskey and Carol Wenzel.
A funeral service will be held at 1PM on Saturday, April 11, at Eernisse Funeral Home, 1167 Washington Avenue in Cedarburg. The family will greet guests from 11:30AM until the time of the service at 1PM with military honors to follow. Interment will take place at a later date.
