Passed away peacefully at his home with his family by his side on Monday February 13, 2017 at the age of 89. Beloved husband for 52 years of Anne M. Dearest dad of Mary (Dennis) Craig and Anne E. (Donald) Salvaggio. Loving grandfather "papa dad" of Joseph, Samuel, Benjamin, and Noah Craig and Elizabeth, Nicholas, Jacob, and Abigail Salvaggio. Fond brother of Patricia (Kenneth) Doughman. Preceded in death by his parents along with his sister Gertrude and brother-in-law Myron Backhaus. Further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. John was born in Milwaukee on April 11, 1927 to Fred and Anne (nee Foley) DeLorme. After growing up in Manitowoc he served in the US Army from 1945-46. John taught in the Wisconsin communities of Collins, Richfield, and Cedarburg, retiring after 40 years. Mass of Christian Burial 11:30 AM on Friday February 17, 2017 at St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church-North, 1375 Covered Bridge Rd, Cedarburg, WI 53012. Visitation Friday at the church from 10:30 AM until time of Mass. Immediately following Mass a luncheon will be held in the church hall. Interment St. Francis Borgia Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the church would be appreciated.
