IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Joan
Brown
May 25, 1934 – April 11, 2024
After a day surrounded by a number of her loved ones; and as her son, David, and granddaughter, Linda were settling her in for the night, Joan took her last breath in Linda's arms.
Joan (known as Jo Ann in her younger years) was born on May 25, 1934, in Milwaukee to Adam Nyman and Leota Servis Nyman. She married Franklin Brown on May 16, 1953, in Milwaukee. They moved to Grafton in 1958. In 1974 they moved to Illinois, staying there until 1979 when they moved back to Grafton and eventually settling in Port Washington.
Over her lifetime she was employed as a waitress; worked in manufacturing; and worked at Shopko.
Joan enjoyed dancing, going to casinos, reading, doing word search puzzles, and putting together jigsaw puzzles. Faithful fan of the Green Bay Packers (Donald Driver was her favorite!) the Milwaukee Brewers, and Badgers football. (She hated basketball because of the squeaky shoes against the playing floor!)
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank; her daughter, Barbara; her brother Richard; and her sisters Betty and Shirley.
Joan is survived by her children, Flo (Tom) Paulin, Sue Young, David Brown, Vicki (Alex) Romero; 10 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Christa Nyman, as well as cousins, nieces, and nephews.
A celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 27th at Christ the King Lutheran Church, 420 W Whitefish Road in Port Washington. Visitation from 10:30 AM until the time of service at 12 PM.
