Jerome A. Schwabenlender Jerry Schwabenlender of Cottage Drive in the Town of Friendship formerly of Belgium passed away at St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac Monday evening March 14 2005. He was 80 years old. Jerry was born on September 27 1924 in St. John WI son of Joseph and Theresa Gruber Schwabenlender. On June 19 1948 he was united in marriage to Margaret C. Schomisch in Chilton WI. The couple moved to Belgium in 1949 where they farmed and operated the Belgium Elevator Feed Mill and Fertilizer Plant for the next 45 years. During this time Jerry was very involved with community groups. He was a charter member and past president of the Belgium Lions Club a past-president of the Belgium Fire Department and active in the Catholic Order of Foresters 4-H Boy Scouts and the St. Mary Lake Church Parish. In 1997 Jerry and Maggie retired on the lake in Fond du Lac and are members of Presentation Catholic Church. Together they traveled throughout the United States in their RV. Jerry also enjoyed woodworking fishing and gardening. He is survived by his wife Maggie 4 daughters: Nancy Opitz of Cedar Grove Jo (Mark) Johnson of Mequon Kay (Tracy) Van Den Berg of Prior Lake MN and Ruth (Jeff) Dudarenke of Fond du Lac and 2 sons: James (Mari) and David (Sherry) Schwabenlender both of Cedar Grove. He is further survived by 12 grandchildren and 1 brother Robert (Urana) Schwabenlender of New Franken WI. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday March 23 10AM at St. Mary Catholic Church Lake Church. Fr. James Vojtik will officiate. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery. The family will receive visitors Tuesday March 22nd at the Eernisse Funeral Home 171 N. Royal Ave. in Belgium from 4-8PM and again Wednesday March 23 at the church from 9-10AM. Memorials are suggested to Mt.
