JeriAnn Schmit 70 passed peacefully Wednesday June 13 at Horizon Hospice in Mequon with her husband Jim of 47years at her side and surrounded by family. Jeri had most recently suffered a series of strokes that her body could not sustain. She was an active gardener quilter food pantry volunteer and a great fan of her grandchildren's sporting events and performance. Jeri will be remembered for her beautiful smile; her willingness to help others especially those in need; her sense of adventure and camaraderie; her Lucille Ball - like sense of humor; her thousands and thousands of photos; her flower garden her love for her husband children and grandchildren and the many people she has touched throughout her life. She is survived by her husband Jim daughter Jennifer (Patrick) Garven of Port Washington son Chris (Beth Merry) Schmit of Wauwatosa daughter Kathy (Stephen) Kohl of Belgium and son Michael Schmit of Mequon. She is further survived by ten grandchildren a close cousin a sister several brothers in law and sisters in law nieces and nephews as well as many many friends. A Celebration of Life will be held on at 12 noon on Saturday June 16 at First Congregational Church 131 N. Webster St.Port Washington. She will be laid to rest in Union Cemetery Port Washington. The family will recieve visitors at the CHURCH on Saturday fron 10AM-12 noon. The fund has been set up in Jeri's memory to assist those in dire need.
