Jean Hill, of Cedarburg, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away unexpectedly in the evening hours of Sunday, March 16, 2025, at Ascension Columbia St. Mary's Hospital in Mequon. She was 81 years old.

Jean was born in Milwaukee on April 20, 1943, the daughter of Edward and Ruth (nee Loennis) Theriault. She grew up in Milwaukee and graduated from Milwaukee Riverside High School with the class of 1961.

On April 18, 1963, she married the love of her life, James Hill, at Christ King Catholic Church in Wauwatosa. The couple moved to Cedarburg to raise their young family in 1970.

Jean was the consummate volunteer. She was very involved in PTA on the state and national level, Mequon-Thiensville Sunrise Rotary, Mequon-Thiensville Chamber of Commerce, Family Fun before the 4th, Gathering on the Green and Jonathan Clark House to name a few. She enjoyed all the friends she made during her time at Ozaukee Bank and no matter where Jean went you could be sure she had her camera with her.

Jean spent many summers with her parents and family at their home in Rhinelander, where she taught her kids how to water ski, fish, and made many amazing dinners around the family dinner table, followed by game night and sitting by the fire.

Jean was the devoted wife and best friend of Jim for 61 years. Loving mother to Peter and Elizabeth (Terry) Kohl. Proud grandma to Austin (Megan), Paige and Jordan (Laura) Hill, Matthew and Jacob Kohl and Bobbi, Ben and Andy (Kathleen) Kohl and their families. Special great-grandma to Harrison and Graham, Sister to Peggy (David) Krueger and Patti (Tom) Krause, Sisters-in-law Beverly Newman and Pat Theriault and many loving nieces, nephews and special friends.

Jean is preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Ruth Theriault, In-Laws Elmer and Llora Hill, nephew Joshua, brother Terry, sister-in-law Ruth and brothers-in-law Jerry, Jim and Thomas.

Funeral services for Jean will be celebrated on Friday, March 21, 2025, at the Eernisse Funeral Home, 1167 Washington Ave. Cedarburg. Visitation will be from 3 to 6 pm, with the funeral service at 6 pm.
