Janet E. West, of Grafton, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 13, 2024, at Aurora Medical Center in Grafton. She was 72 years old.

Janet was born July 14, 1952, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to the late George and Geraldine (Reick) Leistikow. She graduated from Wisconsin Lutheran High school with the class of 1970. She later attended Concordia University and graduated with her Bachelor's Degree in Business Management. She was a proud employee for We Energies for 25 years.

On April 26, 1986, she was united in marriage to Richard West in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, they spent over 35 years together.

She was a member of the Grafton Blues Association and volunteered at the Wisconsin Humane Society when she was not volunteering her time, you could find her reading a book or listening to music. Janet also enjoyed traveling. Some of her favorite destinations were Italy, Caribbean cruises and trips to Disney World.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband Richard, daughter Jaimee Bongard, beloved grandson, Isaiah West, her sister Jeanne Root and many nieces, nephews and friends.

She is preceded in death by her siblings Geraldine Neitzel and Susan Schweda, along with her beloved dog Charlie.

A celebration of Janet's life will take place on Friday, August 23, 2024, at 5:00 PM, at Eernisse Funeral Home, 1167 Washington Ave, Cedarburg. The family will greet friends and relatives from 3:00 PM until the time of service at the FUNERAL HOME. She will be laid to rest at St. Josephs Cemetery.
