IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Janet "Meme" C.
Halliburton
December 14, 1936 – November 9, 2023
Janet Carol Halliburton passed away on Thursday, November 9, 2023. She was 86 years old.
Janet was born on December 14, 1936, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to parents Richard and Esther (nee Heup) Paulsen. She was united in marriage with Leon Halliburton on January 10, 1954, in Georgia. Together they raised three children.
Janet was a beautiful, kind soul who was loved by many. She had many names, mother, auntie, grammy, but most of the world knew her as Meme. Meme loved the smallest things here on Earth and found beauty in everything. She enjoyed the lake life, vacations, crocheting, quilting, and card making. She also loved flowers and all of Gods critters. She was a former Girl Scout leader, active in North Preston HCF, was a volunteer with the Washington County Humane Society, and the West Bend Food Pantry. She was also a member of the coffee and card making group, along with being an active member in the Ladies Aid and Guild at St. John's Church, where she made the famous apple kuchen for their fundraisers. She was best known for her cheesecake and her love of chocolates, which she always shared. She loved feeding all of God's animals. Above all, Meme enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
Meme is survived by her children Carolyn (Jack) Muryn, Connie (Dan) Nichols, and Jayne Ours, her precious grandchildren Craig, Richard and Robert Barrett, John Nichols, and Zachary, Braydon, and Nolan Hottenstein, and great-grandchildren Madisyn and Easton Nichols, Landon Barrett, Ava, McKenzie, Kendyl Barrett, Eliana, Hannah, and Sophia Barrett, and many other family and friends.
Meme was preceded in death by her parents, husband Leon Halliburton, and brother Ricky Paulsen.
Funeral Services will be held at 6PM on Wednesday, November 15, 2023, at St. John's Lutheran Church, 809 S. 6th Ave, West Bend, WI 53095. Reverend David Nieman will be presiding. The family will receive visitors at the church from 4-6PM until service begins at 6PM. Janet will be laid to rest next to her husband at Washington County Memorial Park the following day.
