IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Janet Elaine
Hamilton
January 19, 1940 – January 28, 2023
Janet E. Hamilton (née Glacken), of Cedarburg, passed away on Saturday, January 28, 2023 at the age of 83.
She was born January 19, 1940 in Decatur, Illinois to Florence (née McQuestion) and Joseph Glacken. On May 26, 1962, Janet married Thomas P. Hamilton at St. Sebastian Catholic Church in Milwaukee. Together they built a beautiful family, welcoming three wonderful children – Paul, Mark and Anne.
Over the years, Janet enjoyed history, including her family's origin as initial settlers of Annapolis, traveling stateside and abroad, taking great pride in her home, needlepointing, nature watching and spending time with family.
In her later years, staying closer to home and enjoying the simplicity and ease of life, she perfected the role of grandma. She spent many hours with her two granddaughters, which later morphed into cherished lunch dates and time spent keeping up with their lives as they grew through high school, into college and their early careers.
Always a resource for any snippet of knowledge, her keen mind and sharp wit was known to all. She will be greatly missed and forever loved.
Janet is survived by her husband of 60 years, Thomas Hamilton of Cedarburg; children Paul (Jutta) Hamilton of Detroit and Anne (Jeff) Raskiewicz of West Bend; grandchildren Kelsea (Richard) Murphy of Oakfield and Rachel Raskiewicz (Brady Mueller) of West Bend. She is further survived by dear family, friends and neighbors.
Janet was preceded in death by her son, Lt. Mark D. Hamilton, USN – Graduate of Annapolis Naval Academy.
