Mr. Jim Wagen, of Wildflower Circle in the Town of Port Washington, passed away at Harbor Cove in Port Washington on Wednesday, January 18, 2017. He was 84 years old. James was born in Milwaukee on December 11, 1932, son of Eugene and Fern Boucher Wagen. He attended local schools, graduating from Lincoln High School, before he entered the United States Air Force. He served during the Korean War as an aircraft mechanic. After the service, he began his career as a motorcycle mechanic, later working as a mechanic at House of Harley Davidson in Greenfield until 1984. Jim was united in marriage with Patricia Newlen Mannes on October 1, 1973 in Waukegan, IL. The couple settled in Whitefish Bay, moving to Cedarburg in 1981 where they operated the Hamilton Haus. They later moved to Saukville in 1988 and opened Wagen's Bar and Grill, retiring in 2010. Jim was passionate about working on and riding motorcycles; he was a charter member of the Harley Owners Group (H.O.G.), Chapter #1, and has memorabilia on display at the Harley Davidson Museum. He was also a member of the Landt-Thiel American Legion Post #470 and the Saukville Gun Club, where he enjoyed shooting trap.
Jim is survived by his loving wife Pat and children Dani (Ron) Faucette of Mequon, Joel Mannes, Jay (Mary) Mannes, both of Saukville, James Mannes of Port Washington, Alicia and Laura of Idaho, Christine and Jason Wagen, both of Texas. He is further survived by four grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild, sisters Mary Smith of West Allis and Kathy (John) Fenno of Antigo, other family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother Paul Wagen and son John Mannes.
A Memorial Gathering will take place on Saturday, January 28th at the Landt-Thiel American Legion Post 470, 601 Dekora, Saukville, from 1-4PM.
