James V. BatzkoMr. Jim Batzko of Port Washington formerly of Cedarburg passed away Tuesday morning April 12 2011 at Columbia St. Maryrsquo;s Ozaukee Campus. He was 76 years old. Jim was born May 31 1934 in Milwaukee the son of Luke and Mary Pikalek Batzko.nbsp; After graduating from Rufus King High School in 1952 he proudly served his country in the United States Army. On October 15 1960 he was united in marriage with JoAnn Zeps at St. Agnes Church in Milwaukee and the couple moved to Cedarburg in 1971. She preceded him in death in 1986.nbsp; For 38 years James worked at Evinrude Motors in Milwaukee. He retired in 1990 as a supervisor. Mr. Batzko was a member of St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church.nbsp; After retirement Jim enjoyed spending his free time fishing at his cabin in Boulder Junction. Jim is survived by his four children: John (Barbara) Batzko of Cedarburg Donna Rae ldquo;Dorierdquo; (Derek Carlson) Batzko of Erie PA James (Susan) Batzko of Sussex and Leanne (Jason Cowley) Batzko of Portland OR. He is further survived by 12 grandchildren: Gabrielle and Natalie Batzko Tristan Aidan Alida Kilian Ian and Anwen Carlson Blake Bryce and Brady Batzko and Henry Cowley one sister Marian Marko of Marco Island FL brothers and sisters-in-law: Emily Batzko of Milwaukee Arthur James of Mequon Paul (Anita) Zeps of FL Fr. Michael Zeps of Milwaukee David (Margaret) Zeps of Portland OR Philip Zeps of Black River Falls Veronica (Ronald) Pruhs of Cleveland WI Mary Leiker of Santa Rosa CA Kathy (Gary) Jonas of Fort Atkinson Christine (Robert) Cattani of IN nieces nephews other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his wife JoAnn brother William Batzko and sisters Hedwig Widholm Elizabeth James Margaret Wiegers Helen Moore Theresa Vogl and Joanne Batzko. A Memorial Mass will be held at 11AM on Tuesday April 19 at St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church 1375 Covered Bridge Road in Cedarburg. Father Michael Zeps will officiate. Jim will be laid to rest beside his wife at St. Francis Borgia Cemetery. The family will receive visitors at the church on Tuesday morning from 10-11AM. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to the Ozaukee County Humane Society. The Eernisse Funeral Home and Cremation Service Cedarburg is assisting the family with arrangements.
